Tax-Exemptions available to Businesses locating in Industrial Park

The Juniata County Industrial Park is designated as a (KOZ) Keystone Opportunity Zone.

The Industrial Park is one of over one-hundred KOZ sub-zones statewide and one of 10 in the SEDA-Cog/Central Region. This designation make extensive tax exemptions available through the year 2013 to any qualified businesses that locate in Phase III of the Industrial Park.

Examples of the State and Local taxes that could be waived under the KOZ Legislation are: Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock and Franchise Tax, Sales and Use Tax, Earned Income/Net Profits tax, Business Gross Receipts, Business Occupancy, Business Privilege and Mercantile Taxes, Local Real Estate Taxes and Local Sales and Use Taxes.

In addition to various taxes being waived, the property will receive the lowest available interest rates on State Economic Development loans and priority consideration for various grant programs.

Industrial Park lots for which the exemptions are available are lots 101 through 114.  All 14 lots have new water, sewer and roadway infrastructure in place.
